Toasts a'la Boutique
Recipe for saving almost-out-of-date bread
from Hostel Butik, Kraków, Poland
Step 1
Prepare youreslf - first mentally and then technically. First by relaxing on our beautiful terrace and then by providing following ingredients:
- required number of bread slices (take ones that are close to expiry date, there are some in almost every hostel ;)
- egg
- milk
- cheese (grab one you have in your stock)
- tomatoes
- mayonnaise
- olive
- any spice you like
plus: cooker, frying pan, soup plate, etc.
Step 2
BEAT AN EGG! Put it into soup plate, add milk and mix both with a fork.
Step 3
Put slices of bread in. Let it soooaaaak... Good! Now the other side.
Step 4
Fry prepared bread on a frying pan using olive oil (oh my, not that much!). When frying other side of a slice, put some cheese on top and cover the frying pan to make it melt better.
Step 5
Put tomato slice on each slice of bread. Add mayonnaise and spices. Bon appétit! [Did you know that in french it means 'get fat'? No, no, just kidding ;^P]
